For the past twenty five years, family life has been the horizon of my existence.
As a husband and father of nine children I had made the decision with my wife that I would step back from working full time in journalism and publishing to spend more of my time helping raise our children, while my wife developed her career in finance.
Now that our children are older with some having started their own families, I have decided to begin again from the beginning and return to writing and a more public role.
In my early career I specialised in writing about financial markets for companies like Thomson Corporation and Bloomberg.
Although I remain interested in the financial sector, my writing now focuses on what I have learned over the years about family life, children, relationships, self-development, spirituality, cooking, nutrition and fitness.
In other words, life skills.
My goal is to show my readers helpful strategies and ideas I have learned from both the mistakes I made, and the successes won.
I also want to demonstrate that age should not stop you from pursuing new avenues and embracing the new challenges constantly unfolding in our incredible world.
In the words of Georg Lukács: ‘The voyage is over, the travel begins.’
My 25 year voyage as a stay-at-home dad is now nearly over, but the travel, the work of beginning again from the beginning, is just starting.
